Jump Rope for Heart Recognition Awards

Each year the National AAHPERD office selects two JRFH coordinators to win the prestigious Outstanding Coordinator of the Year Award. These individuals are given an

all expense paid trip (up to $1000) to the AAHPERD National Convention where they are honored in front of their peers for their dedication and commitment to the JRFH

program. The nomination packet forms can be found on the hoop/JRFH website under Awards $ Grants. Go to Jump and/or Hoops for Heart.

Jump Rope for Heart Grant Program

As a Jump Rope for Heart/Hoops for Heart coordinator you are eligible to apply for the AAHPERD JRFH/HFH Grant Program! This grant will subsidize your AAHPERD membership and attendance at the AAHPERD National Convention, as well as provide you with the opportunity to purchase equipment that will enhance your physical

education program in a way that aligns with NASPE Standards and Guidelines. This program is supported by the American Alliance for Health, Physical Education,

Recreation, and Dance (AAHPERD) and is open to all individuals that have held a JRFH/HFH event within the last year.

In some states, a check is presented at the annual convention from the local AHA affiliate to the state leadership signifying the amount of Jump and Hoops money returned t

o the state association.  There have been numerous questions asking why the check only has the AHA logo, and not AAHPERD logo as well?  Everyone in the Joint

Leadership meeting agreed that this would be a simple issue to fix as it is simply a matter of adding the AAHPERD logo.  This could be accomplished by adding the AAHPERD

logo to the design when printing the check or affixing an AAHPERD logo sticker to an existing rewriteable check.
